MbarG Limousin & Katahdin Farms
From our beginning in 1979 with

To 2013 where Nick joined our family and sadly we lost my Dad a few months later...

At MbarG Limousin & Katahdin Farms, we've spent valuable years expanding our Limousin & Limflex cow/calf operation that we market towards the commercial & registered cattlemen in order to maximize FEED EFFICIENCY, GROWTH, and MUSCLING. We've made an outstanding improvement in CARCASS QUALITY in relation to MARBLING and test our superior genetics successfully on our commercial herd. We farm for the purpose of raising our own feed by growing grain sorghum, wheat, oats, turnips with triticale, along with some soybeans and corn. Our grass crops include, forage sorghum, brome, fescue, and native prairie. In the near future we are planning on expanding our operation to include a higher ratio of production crop & grass land, while branching out with our current feedlot system to include backgrounding cattle.

Adding sheep to our farm was originally intended as a few head of Katahdins to work dogs on..........
Although Nick was ready to have me thrown in the loony bin, the sheep have become one of our favorite aspects in the farm today! Growing our numbers has not been without struggle, but the improvement we've seen within our pastures after the first 2 grazing seasons was indescribable not to mention efficient!!
